Description
The rain poured down as I slipped my way through the blackened landscape. Climbing over and ducking under the countless downed trees that litter the mountain side. Charred, even the mud beneath my feet is burned deeply. A few strands of fresh grass have started to pierce the darkness and the lone elk lays within them. His colours blend with the skinned trees and dirt masses that cling to the fragmented roots of the fallen trees. Rain trickles from the elk’s antlers in a way that’s both beautiful to the scene and dramatically sad all at once.
